Ride-Rite Air Springs in 2000 Dodge Ram 350 Can Only Be Inflated to 50 psi
Question:
can only get about 50 psi in bag what psi can be obtained on unloaded vechicle
asked by: Jack
Expert Reply:
Firestone lists 100 psi as the maximum air pressure for the air bags in their # F2071 Ride-Rite system. As a first step, I'd trace the air lines from the Schrader valve to the air bag, making sure that none of the lines are pinched or kinked. I've confirmed with Firestone that is the likely cause of your problem.
Have you tried using a different compressor? Some compressors aren't capable of putting out that much pressure. Some compressors have a pressure regulator that can be adjusted. If this is the case with your compressor, try turning up the regulator. If the air lines and compressor check out okay, please let me know and we'll look into some other possibilities.
