Installing Roof Vent in 2015 Stealth Blackhawk 7X16 Toy Hauler Trailer with Vinyl Ceiling Liner

Question:

I just purchased a brand new 2015 Stealth Blackhawk 7x16 enclosed trailer for hauling atvs. The trailer does have flow through vents, one on each side, but I noticed after leaving my atv in there for one night, the entire inside of the trailer was covered with condensation the next morning. The inside of the tralier is finished with vinyl walls and vinyl ceiling. Do I have to remove the vinyl ceiling in order to install a good roof vent?

Thank you for including a photo of your new trailer.

You do not need to remove the vinyl ceiling liner in your 2015 Stealth Blackhawk 7X16 Toy Hauler trailer in order to install a roof vent. The vinyl liner should be able to be cut along with the roof surface to create the mounting point for the roof vent. Your owner's manual may offer some guidance so its worth checking there before you proceed, or you can check with your trailer dealer.

Generally speaking you'll want to place the vent in the center of the roof's rear half. This will provide the cross-ventilation needed to help remove moisture. If you wish you can install two, placing one about center in the roof and the other midway back to the rear door. You'll want to be sure the vent lids open toward the rear.

If you prefer to install a manually-operated vent such as the Ventline # V2092SP-28 or a metal-lid type such as their # V2110SP-24 you'll want to select the type of installation kit suitable for your trailer roof surface. For use with a metal or coated metal roof you can use # 344270KITW; for a rubber roof instead use # CAM25013, for which a video is linked.
