Can a weight distribution hitch be fitted w/ a 2inch adpt to a 1and1/4 hitch on a VW Tiguan to haul a pop up camper?

If your 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan has a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver then you cannot use weight distribution because the hitch is not rated for it and cannot handle the stress.

You would have to have a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver that is rated for weight distribution AND the vehicle must also be rated for it (consult vehicle owners manual). None of the 2 inch trailer hitches available for your Tiguan are rated for weight distribution.

But you can use sway control with a 1-1/4 inch hitch. The most popular sway control only option is # 83660. To use it you would either need to use ball mount bracket # RP26005 or have a tab welded to the side of the ball mount you are using, # 3442.
