Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Chevy 2500HD Short Bed Truck with B W Turnover Hitch

Question:

Will this work for me in my 2012 2500 HD Crew Cab with 6 foot 6 inch bed. I have a B and W turnover ball. I am purchasing a Road Warrior 400 Toy Hauler that is 42 feet long and weighs 18000 pounds.

I have a better solution for you, but the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # AM3100 would definitely allow you to tow a fifth wheel trailer, but the issue you will run into is that you wouldn't be able to make sharp turns since you have short bed truck. There would be interference with the cab of your truck and the nose of your trailer around sharp turns.

You will need a fifth wheel hitch with a slider, and since you have a B and W Turnover ball gooseneck hitch in your truck bed all you would need is the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W. This will give you a fifth wheel hitch with a slider. The Companion hitches fit directly into the Turnover ball hole without the need for any other adapter so it would work very well for you.

This hitch has an 18k capacity, which if your trailer stays under the figure you listed you would be fine.
