Can Heat Shield be Re-Used When Installing Draw-Tite Hitch Receiver # 75876 on Subaru 2015 Forester
Question:
Can this be installed over the heat shield the same way the similar Hidden Hitch one is in your installation video? Your video for the 2014 Forster shows the hitch attaching to the frame underneath the heat shield, but I would prefer to attach it on the outside of the heat shield if possible. Thanks. Also, do you have a recommendation for a 2 bike hitch rack that would work well for this model?

I believe the video that you are referencing is the installation of the Curt Hitch Receiver, # C13144, on a 2014 Subaru Forester where the hitch shield is re-installed around the hitch.
When it comes to installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 75876, on your 2015 Subaru Forester, yes, you can re-install the heat shield just as long as you remove the portion of the shield that comes in contact with the frame. The hitch must be installed directly to the frame of the Forester and the heat shield can not be between the hitch and the frame. Since you will be removing some of the mounting points of the shield, you will want to make sure that it is properly secured to prevent it from falling out while you are driving.
As for a hitch mounted bike rack, I recommend going with the Thule Camber 2 # TH9058. This rack is offered at a great price and is loaded with options including anti-sway cradles, folding arms, and tilt feature. For added piece of mind I also suggest using a receiver lock like # THSTL2, to secure your bike rack to the hitch.
I have attached a few videos for you to check out.
