How to Prevent Moisture Seeping into Dodge Ram Pickup Bed when Using Tonneau Cover

Question:

Looking at the TX246601 for my 2006 Dodge 2500. Was wondering, is it recommended to be installed on a bed with a rail cap or without? I currently have a in liner with no rail cap only a tailgate cap. If no cap is recommended will the stake pockets allow water to enter the bed? Will they need to be capped or does the tonneau assembly cover the holes? Thanks

Bed caps are not needed in order to install the TruXedo TruXport Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover, part # TX246601 on your 2006 Dodge Ram. The stake holes could allow some moisture to enter the bed, depending on whether they drain to the outside of the bed or to the inside. If yours drain to the inside you can solve this problem by capping the stake holes with TruXedo Stake Pocket Covers. You will want part # TX1704210.

To prevent moisture from invading your truck bed from the tailagate use TruxSeal Universal Tailgate Seal, # TX1703206.

I have attached a video review and installation instructions for this tonneau cover for you to check out.
