Any tire chain on any vehicle will require reduced driving speeds; no tire chain can be used at full highway speeds. Typically tire chains will be rated for speeds of 30 - 40 mph maximum and the faster you drive with snow chains the more likely they are to suffer damage. It is best to keep speeds in the 25 - 30 mph range when using snow chains. If road conditions are bad enough to require chains, then they are also bad enough to justify slowing down!

The usable distance a set of chains can be driven depends on the type of chain. Low-cost types like cable chains, such as the Glacier # PW1046 that you referenced, are fine for a one-time short-distance emergency situation, but will not last as long as sturdier chains like the square link # TH01594247. Generally, chains should be replaced when they have been worn down by 45-percent of their original thickness.

The article linked at right will give you lots of helpful safety and usage tips and help you determine the best chains for your particular driving needs. I also included a link to our main page where you can select your tire size at the top of the page to see chains that will work on your Odyssey.
