How to Reduce Rattle of Diversi-Tech Self-Locking Adjustable Ball Mount # DTALBM7025
Question:
Was wondering if you know if Part Number RM-062 fits the new 2014 3500 RAM? I purchased DTALBM7025 and there is vertical rattle in the sleeve from the hitch. I would like to get rid of that? Any thoughts? Thanks

The Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-062 is a hitch immobilizer intended for use on 2-1/2-inch hitches in a flat-towing application that uses a tow bar to pull a vehicle. It is not designed for use as an anti-rattle device for standard trailer towing, although it might have some positive effect.
I called my technical contact at Diversi-Tech and inquired about your concern with rattle. Although Diversi-Tech does not offer an accessory anti-rattle device to work with their adjustable ball mount
# DTALBM7025, my contact was able to offer a DIY suggestion that you can try at minimal cost.
He suggested inserting a layer of thin rubber (not any particular type) into the gap between the ball mount's shank and the inside of the receiver tube. This can be placed above, below or on the side of the shank, as you prefer. Some of Diversi-Tech's customers have done this and reported back to them that it has been an effective (and low cost) method to reduce play in the ball mount/receiver interface.
