Malfunction of Sensors and Display in Hopkins Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System # HM50002  

Question:

I purchased the Hopkins backup camera/sensor unit earlier this summer and now the sensors are not working, nor are the lines on the screen for backing up. Do I deal with you for warranty, or go to the manufacturer? Thanks.

Thank you for your purchase of the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System # HM50002.

This product is covered by a one-year limited warranty from Hopkins, but before you proceed for warranty service, you might try some quick checks.

The system's sensors can rotate vertically, so make sure they are correctly oriented so that they can detect objects to the rear of the vehicle. Also, the display unit has two modes, Hitch and Everyday, and only in Hitch Mode will you see the center-line alignment feature on the display.
