What is the best towbar and hidden/ removable mounting system for a 2012 Honda CRV? Thanks

I really like the way the removable drawbars of the Blue Ox # BX2258 positively twist and lock into place. They're just as easy to quickly remove. The Blue Ox base plate system for the CR-V just seems more robust to me. As far as which one is more concealed, you can see for yourself by checking out the photo I edited for you.

For a Tow Bar, I'd recommend the Blue Ox Alpha, part # BX7380. Blue Ox tow bars are strong, but very easy to use. The tow bar is self aligning, which makes the tow bar easy to hitch up to the vehicle. Once you pull away, the bars will lock into place. The Alpha includes safety cables, but to complete your towing system, you'll need a wiring solution and a supplemental braking system.

For wiring, I'd recommend the Hopkins # HM56304 wiring harness, which is a plug and play installation that would require no cutting or splicing of the factory wiring. A fuse bypass like part # RM76511 is also recommended.

For a braking system, I really like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. The Patriot pretty much drops into place, with no long, involved and expensive installation needed. It can easily be moved between vehicles and can be removed in seconds.

According to my research, both the FWD and AWD models of the 2012 CR-V are capable of being flat towed, but I strongly urge you to confirm this for yourself by consulting your owner's manual or Honda dealer for any restrictions or advice.

I've linked you to some installation and product demonstration videos as well as some helpful articles about flat towing.
