For a trailer hitch the most popular option is Curt hitch # C13149. This is a Class III trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver. The 2 inch receiver affords you many bike rack options.

The most popular 4-bike hitch mounted rack for 2014 Toyota RAV4 owners is the Thule Hitching Post Pro, # TH934XTR. This rack is easy to use, the arms and mast can fold down, it features anti-sway cradles and holds 4 bikes. I have linked a video review of this rack for you.

Please check the vehicle owners manual for the tongue weight capacity of your RAV4. It should be 150 pounds. This means that the combined weight of the bike rack and bikes cannot exceed 150 pounds. The rack weighs about 40 pounds.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
