Removing a Hitch Cover that is Locked Onto a 2009 Honda Pilot

directions to removing a locking hitch cover. Ohio State block O been on 2009 pilot for 5 years. lost removal instructions

Most hitch covers including # CHC322L do not come with their own hitch pin or lock so the one that is on the vehicle is likely some other brand locking hitch pin. I would need to know what it is or some pictures would be helpful if you could email some to me.
Some covers come with what is basically a plastic spring that sort of looks like a wishbone. The two ends fit in the hitch pin holes in the receiver. To remove the cover that uses this device just push in on the plastic ends sticking into the hitch pin holes while pulling out on the hitch cover at the same time. I have included a picture showing what this device looks like.
