Recommended Air Helper Spring for 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe to Eliminate Sag Caused By Cargo Carrier

Question:

I am wondering, in the description of the product it says that it will not increase your weight carrying capacity. Would this be the tongue weight capacity? I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.4L and the tongue weight capacity is 170 lbs. I have the pro series 63153 cargo carrier 59lbs all I want to do is help level the cargo carrier out with the air bags. Will this product work effectively as long as I stay under the 170 lbs tongue weight capacity on my vehicle? Thanks

The Air Lift # AL60727 air helper springs you mentioned won't increase the 170 lb tongue weight capacity of your Santa Fe, but it will help suspend the cargo carried in the cargo area or on a hitch mounted cargo carrier. As long as you don't exceed that tongue weight capacity, the Air Lift springs will do a great job of eliminating the sag at the rear of the vehicle caused by the cargo carrier. When installing the air springs, it's important that your cuts made in the air hose is exactly square. This is easiest done by using a tubing cutter like part # AL10530.

You might also be interested in a compressor system, like part # AL25592, which would allow you to inflate or deflate the air springs at the push of a button, without needing to exit the vehicle.
