Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
Question:
I have a 2005 Malibu Maxx. Is the SR1002 the correct roof rack? I also have 2007 Mazda 6. Can the SR1002 be used for both vehicles? Finally, What would you recommend for a Kayak carrier if I purchased the SR1002?

Yes, the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack, # SR1002, is one of the roof rack options available for your 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx with a bare roof.
As for the 2007 Mazda 6, the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack to fit that vehicle is part # SR1010. The # SR1002 was not designed nor has been tested to fit on the Mazda 6.
Now for a kayak carrier that will work with the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack, # SR1002. A couple of my favorites are the SportRack J-Style Kayak Carrier, # SR5511, and the Thule Hull-A-Port, # TH834.
