How to Select a Weight Distribution System Based on Trailer Tongue Weight
Question:
We need help deciding which weight distribution hitch we need.

Expert Reply:
Selection of a weight distribution system hinges primary on the trailer's actual fully-loaded ready-to-tow tongue weight as measured by one of the methods outlined in the linked article concerning tongue weight. One of these methods is a dedicated scale such as the etrailer # e99044.
You also need to verify that your hitch is rated for use with weight distribution; not all hitches are. Its safety/warning sticker will indicate if it is rated for use with weight distribution systems.
The linked article will give you plenty of background and explain the types of systems offered and why certain types may be better in certain applications. Without knowing your trailer or vehicle details I cannot offer a specific suggestion. We offer systems both with and without sway-control.
I have included a link to our main page for these systems where you can refine the product results shown by using the filters in the left-hand margin.
