will I need a 3/8 IN Slit Loom or 1/2 for this connector?

If you are looking for a way to 7-way trailer wiring on your 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon you will first need to start with a 4-way. For that you will want the part # C56040. (see install video).
Now if your trailer doesn't have brakes all you would need to convert this to a 7-way would be the part # 37185.
If you do need a 7-way because your trailer has trailer brakes you would instead need the part # ETBC7. This comes with a length of loom.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
