Determining Correct Replacement Grease Seal

Question:

I need to replace a grease seal on my axle hub. My seal has the number 7376 stamped on it. Ive taken measurements of my seal and they appear to be an O.D. of 2, with an I.D. of 1 3/8. I have what appears to be a 1inch spindle on my axle. From viewing your ion, it appears that seal I.D.s and O.D.s are measured in decimal increments. Ive determined that your seal Code # 13194 is the closest to my measurements. Have I ed the right one? If not, can you steer me in the right direction? Additionally, I dont know if I need a double seal or single seal. Does it matter? Thanks for your help.

In order to determine which grease seal is the correct replacement, you will want to use a digital caliper to take measurements. A precise measurement, to the nearest thousandth, is required to ensure that the new seal will fit. The best way to obtain the outer diameter for the seal is to measure the inner diameter of the hub bore. To get the correct inner diameter for the seal, measure the outer diameter of the surface of the spindle the seal rides on.

I was not able to obtain any information on a grease seal # 7376.

When it comes to double lip or single lip seal, I recommend going with the double lip. I have included a link to the double lip seals that we have available.

Once you have your measurements, please feel free to email me and I would be happy to help you find a seal that will work for you.
