Adapting a 7-Pin European 7-Way on 1999 Range Rover to US 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector
Question:
Will this simply plug and play for a 1999 Range rover? I have a simple 4 wire flat utility trailer and need to run it off the eu 7 pin round. Brakes, lef/right turn and running lights? I question this, as i have tried to simply splice the 4 way into the 7 pin wire harness behind the rear bumper, after checking the 7 wires with a test light. And nothing/no combination i have tried has worked. Thanks for the confirmation that this is the product i do/dont need.

You would have the same problem using adapter # 118710 as you would with just splicing in a 4-Way. The adapter doesn't convert the separate signals to combined signals used by most trailers in the US.
You would need to add a converter, # RM-732, which will take the separate signals and combine them. You could then wire in a 4-Way flat such as # HM48030 on the output side of the converter.
