Can a Rheostat be Used to Control Voltage to Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent

Question:

Is it feasible to install a rheostat on this product to vary the fan speed? My tear camper interior is small and noise is an issue.

You could use a rheostat to control the electric motor in Ventline fan # VP-543SP. It is designed as an on/off device but I don't see a reason that it couldn't be controlled. You may end up with that buzzing sound that occurs when electric motors are not getting the voltage they need. That could end up being louder and more annoying than the fan.

The solar powered van, # UF53-945001, might be a better option. It would be quieter but wouldn't move as much air.
