Trailer Coupler Repair Part Recommendations
Question:
In the 1950s I built a trailer and from your description it appears that I must have used a Fulton Trailer Coupler. In any case I need a new Fulton Channel Tongue Coupler with Hand wheel latch complete parts kit- actually I need 2 of the kits. My question is my hand wheel latch assembly seems to have the parts that curves around the ball and the bolt as one piece and seems also to be more robust or heavy duty in manufacture. Do you sell a more heavy duty kit ? However does this kit that you presently selling F520801 fit my 1950s trailer? Thank you

In order to find the right coupler or latch for your trailer you will need to know the size of your trailer tongue or the model of the coupler needing the parts. If you have a Fulton 308 Series coupler on your trailer, then the Fulton Repair kit, part # F520801, will work for you. I have attached a link to the product page that lists the coupler repair kits and parts you can take a look at.
If you are looking to replace the entire coupler, the size of the trailer channel and the ball size, along with the weight capacity are all factors you will want to know.
For example, if you have a 3 inch channel on your trailer, we have bolt-on couplers like part # DL13728, with a 2,000 lb capacity. It also fits a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball.
For a 3,500 lb capacity with a 3 inch channel, I recommend part # CT-3003-Z. This coupler will work with a 2 inch trailer ball. For a 5,000 lb capacity coupler that works with a 2 inch trailer ball I recommend part # F343000301.
If you want a weld-on coupler for a 3 inch trailer channel, I recommend part # DM12563. This works with 2 inch trailer balls and has a 10,000 lb weight capacity.
I have attached a link to our product page for couplers you can check out. You can use the filter on the left of the page and choose the kind of coupler that will work for you.
