How to Wire a Trailer Connector Harness on a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu
Question:
I have a 2009 Chevy Malibu and want to wire a 4 way flat harness to the car. Where are the wires I should tap into for the trailer harness. Are they on the right side in trunk and what color are the car wires to connect to? Thanks

If your 2009 Chevy Malibu is not an LTZ model, you do not have to hard wire the connector. You can use a T-Connector style harness, part # 118450, and connect to the connectors at the back of the tail lights.
If you do have an LTZ model you will have to hardwire your Malibu using something like part # C59496. We have a video of the installation of a similar part on a 2004 Malibu that will walk you through the process. Due to the body change in 2008 and up models, the wiring may be in a different location, but the process will be the same so the video will be very helpful.
