Fabric cargo bags such as the 18-cubic-foot Rightline # RL100S30 that you referenced offer the advantage (over metal baskets and plastic cargo boxes) of having a flexible nature. Their soft construction means that they can adapt to the shape of your loaded cargo and to a degree to the vehicle on which they are installed. Unlike cargo baskets and boxes, some soft cargo bags can be installed on a bare roof that has no hardware (no side rails and/or no crossbars) and this can make them a cost-effective option. For reference the Rightline bag # RL100S30 measures 48 x 40 x 19 inches and this is the largest bag we offer that will mount on your Equinox with factory installed side rails.
A handy accessory often selected with a cargo bag is a tire step like # HE4040. This tire step comes fully assembled and simply slips over a rear tire to give you better access to your rooftop cargo for loading and unloading, and it folds up for easy storage in your vehicle.
You can increase your cargo capacity by adding a hitch-mount cargo carrier. These can be used along with the roof bag since they place their weight burdens on different parts of the vehicle.
Your Equinox can be fitted with either a 1-1/4-inch or 2-inch hitch; all options can be see on the link provided. For maximum capacity I suggest Curt Class III hitch # 13591 which offers a 350-lb tongue weight rating (downward force on the hitch). With a Class III hitch like this on your Equinox you can use a compatible cargo basket such as # C18110 from Curt which offers a 300-lb load capacity.
