Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 2013 Jetta Sedan SE
Question:
I see many different harnesss for the Jetta Sedan SE some are universal. Will the Curt C59496 be a good low cost harness for the Jetta?.

The # C59496 would work, however if it were my vehicle, I'd use the Tow Ready # 118572. Granted it's more expensive, but the 118572 uses connectors that plug inline with the junction between the taillight assemblies and the wiring harnesses feeding the taillights. You'd still need to run a power wire to the battery, but you wouldn't need to cut or splice into any of the vehicle wiring. Since the wire used in the taillight circuits of late model vehicles has become progressively smaller in gauge and therefore more easily damaged, plug and play is definitely the way to go.
