Looking for Recommendations on How to Carry Tricycle on Top of Fiberglass Tonneau Cover
Question:
Have a hard fiberglass tonneau cover, curved on edges. Want to carry a large tricycle on top of it. Would rather not drill into the cover. A rack that mounts/hooks on the edge. Also want a pad or ? that will protect the fiberglass from wear/scratches from the tires. Suggestions?

I would start off by checking with the manufacturer of your fiberglass tonneau cover to see if they recommend carrying anything on top of the cover. Most tonneau covers are not designed for this purpose but if they give the approval, make sure that you ask them how much weight can safely be carried on top of the cover.
We do not offer any type of rack for your large tricycle that would mount or hook on the edge of the fiberglass tonneau cover. The only rack/system that we offer would require that you drill into the cover. Yakima offers the LandingPad 6, # Y00226, SkyLine Towers, # Y53TR, SL Adapter # Y03536, and Round CrossBars, # Y00408, which would provide a roof rack style system that would mount to your fiberglass cover. This rack would keep the tricycle from making contact with the cover and you could secure the bike to the crossbars with straps or tie-downs.
The only option that would not include drilling would be for you to use a roof pad like the Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad, # RL100650, at each of the wheels to protect the fiberglass cover from scratches. This pad measures 36 inches by 36 inches and can be cut to the size that you need. It would then be up to you to safely secure the bike to the tonneau cover with a strap or tie-down being careful not to cinch them too tightly which could cause damage to the cover.
