For your 1999 GMC Yukon to install a brake controller you will have to do a hard wire installation to connect your brake controller. Unfortunately there is not a quick connection port available on your year Yukon. If you already have a 4-way, you can then use the # ETBC7 to install a 7-way. If you need to establish a 4-way you can use # 189319.
I have included some links to installing the # ETBC7, and the hardwired installation of a brake controller for your reference.
If you don't already have a brake controller I recommend using the Tekonsha P2 # 90885 or the P3 # 90195 depending on your needs. The P2 is our best selling brake controller that is user friendly, and offers a wide variety of mounting locations. The P3 is also extremely user friendly, and offers the same flexibility with mounting locations, but offers the option to program different settings for different trailers. It also offers a more complete diagnostic read out if there is a problem that needs to be tracked down.
I have included links to a helpful article about installing a brake controller from scratch, and a video showing the process for you.
