Will Draw-Tite Hitch Work With Thule Parkway 4 Bike Carrier On 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
I have a 2007 Thule 4 Bike Rack, Parkway TH957 1-1/4. I also have a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with the Spare Tire Mount in the back. Which Product is Tow Hitch is best to use? I was thinking Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 1-1/4inch - Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, 2014 Please let me know if this will work?

For your 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # DT78MR. This hitch measures1 inch from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the receiver.
You said you have the Thule Parkway 4 Bike Rack which is designed to fit 1-1/4 inch receivers. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the foot of the carrier is 11-7/8 inches.
I recommend using the Brophy Hitch Reducer, part # HT02. This will allow you to reduce the 2 inch receiver of the Draw-Tite Hitch receiver from 2 inches to 1-1/4 without reducing the hitch capacity. I have attached a product review video for this hitch reducer you may want to take a look at. Since this reducer will give you an additional 3 inches to the hitch pin hole, you should have no problem clearing the back of your Unlimited spare tire.
If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes, I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the handlebar stem and the seat post and allows the bike to be carried more level while providing more ground clearance. I have attached a product review video for the adapter bar you can check out.
