Can A Power Tool Be Used To Operate Trailer Valet Swivel Jack To Move Sailboat
Question:
RE: Trailer Valet Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover - Topwind - 15inch Lift - 500 lbs Will be using for lightweight sailboat trailer 600# GW. Would you know the torque required for the crank in high or low positions. Thinking of using a battery hand drill to crank it?

I spoke with my contact at Trailer Valet and asked about the torque rating on the Trailer Valet Swivel Jack, part # STC-V211. They told me that they do not recommend using a power tool of any type on the jack for liability reasons, and would not provide the torque rating for the jack.
The gear ratio is 14 to 1 for the low gear. This means it takes 14 turns of the handle to move one tire rotation. For the high gear the ratio is 5 to 1.
I have attached a link to a product review video for this jack you can check out.
