Installing P3 Brake Controller On 2010 Winnebago RV On A Sprinter 3500 Chassis
Question:
I have a 2010 Winnebago View RV built on a Sprinter 3500 Chassis. The RV has a class III hitch and 7 pin connector at the rear. I havent taken my driver seat off yet, but I understand from Winnebago I have a flat four pin green connector that is designed for an electric brake controller under the driver seat not sure how long the wire is. As I recall, pin 1 is fused power, pin 4 is ground. Pin 3 is for the controller signal input and pin 4 is an output to pin 7 at the rear of the RV. I wish to purchase a P3 controller. Do I need any additional wiring or does this flat plug simply plug into the controller? I may want to install the p3 at the dash though I may be able to do it vertically below me just below the seat as there is a rather large metal platform below the seat that might be easier as it is closer to the factory wire. Thank you kindly,

The harness that is included with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, part # 90195, has a connector that plugs into the back of the controller. The other end of the wiring harness has 4 wires.
You will want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the connector under the seat Winnebago said is designated for a brake controller. When testing your connector you should have one pin that is has current all the time (black wire from the controller for 12V power), one wire that shows current only when the brake pedal is pressed (red wire from the controller for the stop light signal), one wire that is for ground (white from controller for ground), and the fourth is to send the signal from the brake controller to the 7-way connector at the rear of the Winnebago (blue wire from the controller).
If you decide to move the controller to another location, for instance under the dash, I recommend using part # 16-4B-1 wire. This can be ordered by the foot.
I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains how to wire a brake controller from scratch you can check out.
