Can Old Style Yakima Viper Bike Rack Mounts Be Adapted to Fit Elliptical/Aero Crossbars

Question:

Will old style round/square compatible Yakima Viper Bike mounts fit on these cross bars? If not what parts do I need to make them fit.

The older versions of the Yakima Viper Bike Rack cannot be adapted to fit elliptical or aerodynamic crossbars such as the Rhino-Rack Vortex # RRVA126B-2 that you referenced. The Viper is designed specifically to fit round or square crossbars only. I confirmed this with my contact at Yakima. A Yakima roof-mount bike carrier that can fit the Vortex crossbars is Yakima's ForkLift # Y02098 which is shown in the linked video.

All roof bike carriers that fit elliptical bars can be seen on the included link. Filters on the page will allow you to choose the features and characteristics you prefer, such as locks for example.
