Rear Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2012 Ford F150 with a Camper That Also Tows Trailer
Question:
I have a 1999 Ford F150 with Firestone air springs that I use to carry a smaller slide-in pop-up camper 1400#. I am upgrading to a 2012 F150 which should have higher cargo capacity than th 99 but still sags 3inch with the camper on. The camper is only used occasionally. I am considering the Timbren 1504 system. I like the idea of not mhaving to mess with air lines and inflation pressure etc. I will also be pulling a 6500# pull-behind travel trailer at times, and I have a weight distribution hitch system for that. I would never, are else very very infrequently haul both the camper and the trailer. Ive read in your posts that the suspension enhancement could interfer with the weight distribution. Will the Timbren system interfer with the weight distribution system when pulling the trailer if the truck has only light cargo in the bed and not loaded with the camper at the same time? Is the 1504 the right model I think the 1502 might be overkill. Or any other system you recommend instead? Thank you!

For your setup you would be best served getting an air bag kit again. It's the best suspension enhancement I can recommend for you since you plan on towing a trailer as well. This way you can air up the bags when you have the camper without the trailer, and then when towing the trailer deflate them and use the weight distribution system.
The use of rear suspension enhancement like the Timbren along with a weight distribution kit is not recommended. They will tend to work against one another.
For air suspension enhancement I would recommend the Firestone Ride Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2525. I attached an install video for you to check out.
