Using Kuat Sherpa Bike Rack SH12B With 2-Inch Hitch Adapter D101
Question:
Everything is great but I am confused as when the rack extension is ed into the t-hitch the holes for bolts do not line up. The rack extension has a self tightening mechanism so is it not necessary to bolt it in place also?

Expert Reply:
The Kuat Bike Rack Shank Adapter # D101 that you referenced installs on the driver's side of the shank of the Sherpa bike rack # SH12B using the included hardware. These bolts should be tightened fully to secure the adapter to the shank. Then once installed in your trailer hitch you will use the anti-rattle device on the carrier to steady it in the receiver tube.
