Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier Recommendations for a 2014 Kia Sportage LX
Question:
Hi, I have a Kia Sportage LX 2014 and wanted to know if the curt cargo carrier for 2 aluminum folding-500 - lbs can be used for my car also I the rear of my car and I dont see a hitch. It has to be installed for this model and year or has to be installed in the factory ? Thank you, I will appreciate your reply.

You can have an aftermarket trailer hitch installed on your 2014 Kia Sportage. It doesn't have to be the factory or dealer installed hitch to use a cargo carrier. For your Sportage the most popular hitch option is # C13120. I have linked a video showing installation of this hitch for you.
The Curt aluminum carrier # C18100 will fit your Sportage but only when it is in the folded down position and not when folded up. There is not enough clearance to fold up the carrier on this particular vehicle and hitch.
If you need a carrier that will also fit when folded up then I recommend steel carrier # C18151.
