Question:
Where is the port for the brake controler on my 2001 Chevy 2500 long box regular cab? What does it look like?

The port is located in the junction box located on the firewall behind the emergency brake pedal. The box has a black cover. Once the cover is removed, the wiring adapter, part # 3025-P can be plugged into the second slot from the left in the top row of the junction box.
If you will use the link below, we have a Brake Controller Installation Guide that will walk you through the whole process. There are photos that will show the location of the port for the brake controller, as well as other helpful information. I've also linked you to an install video showing the P3 being installed on a 2002 Silverado. The procedure on your 2001 model would be identical.
