Troubleshooting # 20119 7-Way Connector Installed on 2002 Ford F150
Question:
Replaced factory 7 pin and 4 pin flat with your #74682 harness. Unplugged factory round plug from back of original bracket under bumper . installed new bracket and plugged round connector into round I took off old plug. Still have 4 pin on that line. Do I need to unplug that original wire further up to a different round plug which would eliminate the original round and 4 pin plug? Right now the trailer lights dont work. Thank you.

It sounds like your existing 4-pole is plugged in line with the vehicle harness somewhere upstream from where you've installed the # 74682. Is the existing 4-pole functional? I'd remove the 4-pole and see if that fixes the problem, especially since the 20119 already provides a 4-pole. If that doesn't fix the problem, use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 on the round plug on the vehicle that you've plugged the 20119 into. The pins on the plug should power up when the right turn, left turn, running lights and brakes are activated. If they do not, check the fuses that protect the towing circuits, which will be located in the power distribution box under the hood.
