Wiring Adapter to Allow 2009 Nissan Pathfinder to Pull Pop-Up Camper With 6-Way Round Connector
Question:
I need a 6 pin towing wiring adapter for my 2009 Nissan Pathfinder. I want to tow a pop-up camper, I want to be sure that I can charge when towing. I had a 2006 and that needed relays under the hood, does this need those as well or is it all set? thank you!

If your 2009 Nissan Pathfinder is equipped with the factory tow package 7-way socket, such as # 118267 that you referenced, you can add an adapter to allow you to connect your 6-pole-equipped pop-up camper, or you can choose a more permanent solution which is to re-wire the connector on the trailer to a mating 7-way plug. Long-term you are better off without an adapter as these will inevitably lead to more chance for corrosion and issues down the road.
You can use Hopkins 8-foot # H20046 or 3-foot # H20042 along with a junction box like # 38656 to simplify the installation of the 7-way plug on the trailer. The junction box makes it easier to make connections and provides better protection from the elements than any adapter can. The linked article will show you how to wire the 7-way to match the wiring on your Pathfinder.
If you prefer an adapter you can use # HM47570 that will give you 6-, 5- and 4-way connectivity.
