Why Would a Trailer Equalizer not Sit Horizontal at Rest on a Tandem Axle Trailer
Question:
I have a tandem axle trailer, 8 x 4 braked, and the equilizer between the two leaf springs does not sit horizontal at rest. what are the likely causes? the front of the equiliser is higher than the back, does that mean there is more weight on the front?

Expert Reply:
Most likely it means your ball mount has too much drop and that is angling the trailer so that there is more weight on the front axle.
