Replacement Wheels, Hubs, and Drums for Trailer Axles with 4 on 9.12 Bolt Pattern
Question:
I have a trailer that has Dexter axels and 4 lug drum hubs. I was looking for the availability of new rims and hubs. I found the 494 rims but read in your article that if they are bolted instead of studs they wont fit. They do measure about 9 12. Is there a chance they might fit? Even if they do fit are the hubs still available? I know I can change the axels but rather not. The trailer is about 25 years old and didnt want to invest much money into to it.

I am not sure which wheels you mean. It sounds like you are talking about a wheel such as # AM20312 which has a very rare and no longer used 4 on 9.44 inch bolt pattern. It is possible that the hubs and drums can be replaced on your trailer and then you could use some different wheels. But I need to know the inner and outer bearing numbers stamped into the metal of the bearings.
I also need to know the current tire size and the capacity of the trailer if available.
If the trailer has mobile home axles you will want to replace the axles because mobile home axles are meant for one time use only. That is one reason why it is very difficult to find any replacement parts. I have also included a link to the axles we carry.
