Right Side Trailer Lights Do Not Work After Installing Trailer Wiring Harness on 2009 Grand Caravan

Question:

I purchased a T wiring harness for my 2009 DGC. Wired it per instructions and your video. My problem is the right voltage feed to my trailer is not working. My vehicle signal functions are fine. Using a battery I made sure my trailer wiring was fine by applying voltage to all the circuits to make sure they work. The left side works fine reading voltage for the 4 way but get nothing for the green wire. I think the unit is bad but may be overlooking something. HELP.

To determine if the converter box is bad on your trailer wiring harness, I recommend testing the wires going into the converter box from the tail lights by probing them with a circuit tester. If you have power for the right turn signal and brake light going into the converter box but no power coming out of the converter box, then the converter box is probably bad and should be replaced.

I also recommend inspecting the harness from the converter box to the 4-way trailer connector. Sometimes the wires can be pinched, cut or frayed if they are routed around sharp metal edges. We have had this issue a few times in our shop.
