The width issue of the ball plate for your sway control bar could be fixed by welding the plate to the trailer tongue, however, if there are permanently installed components on the tongue that interfere with the ball plate, then it probably will not work with your trailer.
The friction sway control bar is the only independent style sway control that we offer, but you could use a weight distribution system with integrated sway control like the Reese Light Duty Weight Distribution System with Sway Control, # 66557. I have attached a help article on weight distribution systems if you are unfamiliar with them.
The Sun-Lite Koala campers are fairly light trailers, so you will not need a heavy-duty system. When choosing weight distribution, you will want to choose a system that can handle the total tongue weight of your towing setup. The total tongue weight includes the loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer plus the weight of any cargo loaded behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. I have attached a help article on how to determine your tongue weight for you to check out.
The Reese Light Duty system will work as long as your total tongue weight is under 400 lbs. A weight distribution system will also reduce any sag that you may have when towing your camper. If your total tongue weight exceeds 400 lbs, let me know and I can make a more specific recommendation for you. The frame brackets for this system can mount anywhere between 25 inches and 32 inches from the center of the ball coupler on the trailer tongue and should be small enough so they do not interfere with any other components. A hitch ball is not included with the Light Duty system. If you need a 2 inch hitch ball, you can use part # 63845.
