Troubleshooting Dim Brake Lights on Boat Trailer after 4-Way Vehicle Install
Question:
Replaced converter for the break lights on my boat trailer and when braked several ties to check, was not bright enough. What could problem be.

Was your tow vehicle on? If the battery of the tow vehicle was drained from having the interior lights on because you had doors open on the vehicle to install the T-One Connector part # 118255 that would explain the dim lights.
Other than that the problem would most likely be the grounds of the light assemblies. You will want to make sure the lights are grounding to a clean metal surface. Some assemblies ground through the mounting hardware so you will need to make sure they are installed on clean metal surface as well.
It might be that your trailer is drawing more power than what your harness can handle. And that is why you had to replace your converter initially. If this is the case you might look into replacing your trailer lights with LED units. I attached a page that has all of the LED trailer lights we carry.
