Recommendation for Transporting 2 Electric Bikes with a 2013 Prius V
Question:
We have a 2013 Prius V and also two electric bikes. The two bikes together weigh 121 lbs, so heavy. What hitch do you recommend for this weight? Or is the weight just too much for any of them? Also if you do have a hitch that will work, what bike trailer do you recommend for this weight bikes as well? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
For your 2013 Prius V your only option is going to be to install a hitch and then tow a trailer to transport your electric bikes that you accurately described as, "heavy."
For a hitch you could definitely go with the Curt Hitch part # C11276 that you referenced. For a trailer I would recommend the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer part # Y08106.
And then for bike racks to install on to the trailer I would recommend the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Rack part # Y02103.
For wiring to activate the turn signals of the # Y08106 you would want the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118610. I attached installation instructions.
Lastly, you will want to check the owners manual of your vehicle to determine if there are any towing restrictions.
