Per the installation instructions the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13084 that is a fit for your 2001 Jeep Cherokee uses metric hardware for the installation. This is a Class lll hitch that features a 2 X 2 inch receiver opening. This hitch comes with the hardware needed for installation.
I have attached an installation video for this hitch on a Jeep Cherokee you can check out.
I recommend the etrailer ball mount kit, part # 989900. This kit comes with 2 ball mounts, part # 2923 that has a 3/4 inch rise and a 2 inch drop and part # 2753, which has a 2-3/4 inch rise and 4 inch drop. Also included are two hitch balls, a 1-7/8 inch ball and a 2 inch ball, along with a pin and clip and a carrying bag.
