Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2014 Nissan Frontier
Question:
Im buying a 2014 Frontier 2 wheel drive. I watched your video for installing this wiring harness. Is it necessary to install the relays and the 12 point wiring harness? On my 1999 Frontier, I just put in the T connector in the rear and it worked fine. Just wondering why the relays are needed.

Helpful Expert Reply:
In your case it sounds like your 1999 Nissan Frontier already had the relays installed. So for you no, it would not be necessary to use the included relays. If the vehicle has a tow package most likely the relays are already in place.
If you install everything but the relays and it all works then you would be good-to-go on your 2014 Nissan Frontier. If not, then you would need to install them.
The large brown relay is for the 12-volt power source for a 7-way and the blue relays are for the turn signals.
