Installing P2 Brake Controller On 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Pickup Truck
Question:
I recently purchased a 2010 crew cab silverado 1500. I would like to purchase one of your products to add trailer brakes to my truck. I would obviously like something plug and play that doesnt require me splicing into my factory wiring harness. What do you have that fits my needs? I found this but obviously thats not my year truck so I was hesitant even though I found something that said it would work. I figured Id email you guys direct! Thank you in advance!

Starting with the 2007 model year General Motors quit offering the plug in type connectors for a brake controller. Your 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will have four or five blunt cut wires under the left side of the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. The wires can be identified by a white label and the color of the wires. The wire colors are (1) Red/Black wire, (1) White wire, (1) Light Blue/White wire and (1) Dark Blue wire and possibly (1) Orange wire.
You will want to connect the wires to the Tekonsha P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885, in the following manner; red/black on vehicle to black on brake controller harness, white to white, light blue/white to red, and dark blue to blue.
I have attached a link to a helpful article for installing a brake controller and also a link to a video that shows how a brake controller is installed on a 2011 Silverado.
