Questions About Hitch And Wiring For A 2024 Toyota RAV4

Question:

Good afternoon. Please ref. 2024 Toyota Rav4. Looking at Class 3 hitches, it seems they all mount well under rear body panels. I have 2 other Rav4s where hitch is exposed, allowing me to have a place to install plug connector bracket of sorts. Newer style hitches do not allow for this from what I can tell in pictures. I prefer not to just toss wiring in back of vehicle when not in use. Thoughts? Thank you

Hello Mike, good question. All of the hitches for the 2024 RAV4, such as the etrailer class 3 hitch # e23ZR will install up behind the underbody panels, with only the 2" receiver visible underneath the car. So you are right that there is really not a good way to attach your wiring bracket to the crosstube of the hitch.

As far as the wiring harness # C56434 goes, once installed, the 4 flat plug would be stowed in the trunk. You would just run it out thru the hatch when you need to use it. It may be possible to run the plug thru the panels out to the bottom of the car, but you would need to find a place to attach a bracket. You might be able to use a bracket like part # 18144 and simply attach it to the bumper. Aside from that I would have to recommend that you just keep the connector in the trunk.
