Replacing 1-1/4-Inch Factory Hitch With 2-Inch Class III Hitch on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
On Code: 75338 product hitch for a 06 grand cherokee. it has a tow package on it but its the stock 1-1/4inch and need to move to a 2. Will this hitch mount flush into the slot in the bumper? Your pictures on the Jeep show it under the bumper since that model didnt come from the factory with a tow package. Can you suggest what i need? Thanks.

There is only one location on any given vehicle's frame to properly attach a hitch receiver. The location on your 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee where the existing 1-1/4-inch Class II hitch is installed is the same place that Class III hitch # 75338 will mount. This 2-inch hitch installs without drilling using the included hardware and will sit in essentially the same spot as the current hitch tube. I have linked an installation video for you.
If you need a 4-pole trailer wiring harness for your Grand Cherokee with factory tow package you can use part # 118381 if you already have a factory 7-way, or part # C56175 if you do not have a 7-way. If you need towing components I suggest the etrailer kit # 989900 that inlcudes 2 ball mounts, 2 hitch balls and a pin and clip all in a handy bag. The linked video will illustrate.
If a bike rack or cargo carrier are in your plans you can use the links provided to view compatible items, and the linked article on each will help you select ones that will work best for you.
