Wiring Harness Routing Option For 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
2012 subaru outback I want to purchase a wiring harness with a hitch. I know which hitch I want but I do not want the wire harness to come under the hatch door. Is there a harness which is attached under the car on the hitch? Thanks

For your 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118467. This plugs easily and quickly into the existing wiring on your vehicle and requires no splicing into the car wiring. I have also attached an install video for this harness that shows how they run the wires through the spare tire compartment so that the harness can be attached to the trailer hitch at the rear of the Outback.
To attach the harness to the hitch I recommend part # 18144, and part # 18140. This will give you a secure way to hold the 4-way connector. If you wish to have a longer bracket you can order part # C57202.
You mentioned you know which hitch you were wanting to purchase. I have also attached a link to our page of trailer hitches we have that are available for your Outback.
