Roof Rack and Trailer Hitch for 2024 Subaru Impreza

Question:

Hey everyone. Happy MDW. My wife and I just got a Subaru Impreza. 2024. I want to install a roof rack and hitch to help with travel. The hitch would get a cargo basket and the roof rack would get a narrow shell and bike rack. I would have to install everything myself. It has a flat roof now and nothing in the rear. Any direction is greatly appreciated

Hi Samuel; I would be happy to help you find a hitch and roof rack for your new 2024 Impreza. Starting with the hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76209. This is a Class III hitch with a bolt-on installation. Since it has a 2" receiver you will have more options for cargo baskets like # e98874 and other accessories. It also has a higher tongue weight capacity.

For a roof rack I recommend the Yakima JetStream Roof Rack # Y85SB. The JetStream bars are going to be the quietest option and they also look great. Noise level is one of the biggest complaints with other roof racks, and I'm guessing you want the rack on there all the time, so these crossbars are the way to go. If you want to add locks to keep it secure you will also need the # Y07204.

If you don't already have a roof box check out the Yakima SkyBox 12 # Y07334. This is relatively narrow at 24" wide, especially compared to other offerings. The full dimensions are 92" long x 24" wide x 16" tall with a carrying capacity of 12 cu ft. You could get the # Y07206 instead of the # Y07204 to have matching locks for your roof box and roof rack. A roof bike rack like FrontLoader # Y02103 would keep it all the same and you could get the # Y07208 for matching locks all around.
