Does a Sidewinder Replacement 5th Wheel Trailer King Pin Need to be Greased

Question:

When using the sidewinder I have noticed that my hitch top plate is getting chipped up and scratched along. Are you supposed to lub or grease the top plate to assist in the connection?

Yes, you will need to grease the skid plate and around the wedge on the Sidewinder. I have included a picture from the instructions for Sidewinder # RP61412 showing where the grease needs to go. You can use grease # L11390.
