Recommended Parts For Flat Towing 2007 Chevy Tahoe Behind Motorhome

Question:

I want to flat tow a 2007 Tahoe 4x4 behind a 2021 Winnebago Forza T34. What are your recommendations for hitch, tow bar, and brake assist?

Hi Michael,

We can get your 2007 Chevy Tahoe set up to be flat towed behind your Winnebago motorhome, and for base plates and a tow bar I recommend going with Blue Ox as the base plates will fit both the hybrid and non-hybrid versions and their tow bars have a higher capacity than most, which is needed for a big SUV like your Tahoe.

For wiring and the brake system though, Roadmaster is what I like the most because we've seen over time the quality of both parts of the flat tow systems, and it's what I trust the most and what put on the Tahoe if it was mine. So here is exactly what you'd need for your '07 Tahoe:

- Base Plate Kit: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1676

- Tow Bar: Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar - 10,000 lbs # BX7420

- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267

- Roadmaster InvisiBrake Flat Tow Brake System # RM-8700

You'll also need a stoplight switch kit to activate the braking system and ensure it gets the signal from your brake lights. Keep in mind the correct one for your Tahoe will depend on if it has adjustable pedals or not. If you DO have adjustable pedals use Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751220; if you do NOT have adjustable pedals use Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751421.
